IGDIs

Individual Growth and Development Indicators

IGDIs are brief, play-based assessments that monitor children's growth in communication, language, and early literacy from birth to five. Each measure takes six minutes per child, produces same-day data, and is supported by a free mobile scoring app.

About the partner

IGDIs were developed at the Juniper Gardens Children's Project, University of Kansas. The measures are designed for early childhood programs, home visiting services, and birth-to-three intervention teams. They monitor children's individual growth trajectories over time, so practitioners can identify delays early and track whether support is working.

The MOD (Measure, Observe, Decide) decision-support tool accompanies the assessment data, turning growth graphs into recommended next steps. A free mobile app handles scoring, replacing paper protocols. [Placeholder — to be reviewed with the IGDIs team before launch.]
